2nd Place Anti-Virus Protection Test

A close second in our antivirus comparison test was Panda Software’s Antivirus Pro. It could be accused of being rather bland looking, but when you are looking for features and a reliable product, it’s the guts not the shine that does the job.

Panda Software’s Antivirus Pro was first choice for one of our reviewers and a solid second for some of the others. It is easy to install, update and use. Optional features are easily turned on and off by even the most novice of computer users.

We are running Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 on our test computers and Panda Software’s Antivirus Pro is tested and approved for all Windows versions. One of the testers is now using it on their own laptop powered by Microsoft Vista and swears by it as it doesn't chew up needed resources.

Panda Antivirus was also very slick and quick on our Mac running Snow Leopard. This may have been the best Mac version we tested. With Mac's file system the way it is, Panda scanned the entire drive in short order.

When we called customer support our call was answered quickly and someone who was very knowledgeable answered our questions. The software scans all files and drives very quickly. Running Panda never slowed our test computers and users noticed a significant increase in speed versus our previous antivirus software.

Drawbacks include licensing for only two computers which is fine if you have only one or two computers, but you can buy for just a few dollars more a multi-license package. Windows users may need for Internet Explorer to be installed.
